Rome public transport workers went on strike on Monday to voice protest against government labor reforms; a four-hour strike began at 08:30 local time, disrupting the metro, buses, trams and trains in the city.
Earlier in the day, four-hour strikes also started in the cities Bologna and Naples, with a similar lockdown expected in the evening in the northern cities of Milan and Turin.
Public transport services are due to come to a halt there scheduled to be halted between 18:00 to 22:00 local time.
