NOVO-OGARYOVO (Sputnik) — Russia's flagship carrier Aeroflot is planning to increase passenger traffic on several routes, including Crimea, company's CEO, Vitaly Savelyev, said on Tuesday.
Savelyev added that the ticket price for flights to Crimea will not be subject to seasonal fluctuation.
Aeroflot flew a total of 23.6 million passengers in 2014.
In January and February Aeroflot flew 3.5 million passengers, showing 12 percent growth in comparison to the same period last year.
Crimea and its special-status port city of Sevastopol adopted a declaration of independence from Ukraine, asking for reunification with Russia on March 11, 2014. Following a region-wide referendum on March 16 and a treaty of accession between the peninsula and the Kremlin on March 18, Crimea rejoined Russia.
