WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A couple was shot dead outside of a Fresno, California Sang Pediatrics medical office, according to local media reports.
“A husband and wife are dead after shots were fired at a downtown Fresno medical office, Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez was quoted as saying in the local Fresno Bee newspaper on Tuesday.
Witnesses told the local media the woman was in the medial office when a man carrying a shotgun entered and began speaking with an employee there. The man then threatened the employee, dragged her to the ground and pulled out his shotgun before witnesses fled the scene.

Fresno police have so far rescued several people from the medical clinic, but the scene is still unfolding, according to media reports.
Public shootings have become more frequent in the United States, with Harvard researchers having estimated in October 2014 that deadly shootings have occurred on average every 64 days in the past three years.
