KIEV (Sputnik) – Denmark is doing everything it can to help, but lethal weapons delivery is out of the question, Juhl said at a briefing, Ukrainian UNIAN news agency reported.
Denmark is a close friend of Ukraine and seeks to provide Kiev with political and economic assistance, the ambassador stressed.
Last month, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in a televised interview that Kiev had agreed to the delivery of weaponry, some of it lethal, from 11 EU countries.
Several European countries, including Germany and France, ruled out providing Kiev with lethal aid.
On March 24, the US House of Representatives approved a resolution urging US President Barack Obama to deliver lethal arms to Ukraine. Obama has consistently repeated his disinclination to give weapons to the current Ukraine government, agreeing with the Russian position that providing Kiev with weapons would exacerbate the Ukrainian crisis.
