LAUSANNE (Sputnik) — A ministerial meeting in the so-called Normandy Format on Ukrainian reconciliation could be held in mid-April, a senior French diplomat told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
"A meeting at the level of foreign ministers is scheduled for April, most likely mid-April," French Foreign Ministry's political director for Iranian affairs Nicolas de Riviere said on the sidelines of Iran nuclear talks in Lausanne.
The Normandy Quartet, which has brokered the Minsk peace accords between Kiev and the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, comprises Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine.
The quartet had several rounds of talks on Ukrainian reconciliation, with the most recent negotiations resulting in a ceasefire effective since February 15 and heavy weaponry pullback from the line of contact, among other provisions aiming to deescalate an almost year-long conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The truce in southeastern Ukraine is generally holding, however both sides accuse each other of violating it.
