The construction of the new small-size missile ship "Graivoron" for the Russian navy will begin at the Zelenodolsky Shipyard in the Republic of Tatarstan, the press-office for the Defense Ministry reported Thursday.
"On April 10 another small-size missile ship of project 21631 will be laid down at the Zelenodolsky Shipyard," the report read.
According to the plan of the Russian navy command, small-size missile ships of project 21631 will be used in task forces or separately to secure the near maritime zone.
Previously the Zelenodolsky Shipyard built for the Russian Naval Forces the small-size missile ships the "Uglich" and "Veliky Ustyug". The ships of project 21631, the "Serpukhov", "Vyshniy Volochek", "Zeleyony Dol", "Ingushetia" and "Orehkovo-Zuevo" are now being built.
