SANAA (Sputnik) — The second plane carrying the remaining group of Russian citizens who had decided to leave crisis-hit Yemen took off Thursday from the Yemeni capital, heading for Djibouti, a source at the airport in Sanaa told Sputnik.
"The second plane, carrying 120 people, has just taken off. It is heading for Djibouti on the way to Moscow," the source said.
The first plane, carrying 162 Russians, left Sanaa earlier in the day heading for Cairo.
The aircraft flew to Houthi-controlled Sanaa once they were granted permission to fly to the Yemeni capital.
Saudi Arabia, India, China, the United States have been evacuating their nationals from the Yemeni capital over security concerns. The United Nations has also pulled out its staff from the country.
The Saudi Arabia-led coalition of countries has been conducting airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in Sanaa since March 25 after Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi had asked the Arab League for military assistance.
