SANAA, April 3 (Sputnik) – The weapons were meant for the loyalists of ousted Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, the source added.
"Early in the morning, weapons have been dropped in a number of areas of the Aden province," he said.
In late March, Hadi fled the city of Aden amid clashes between troops loyal to his government and Houthi rebels that had seized parts of Yemen, including the capital of Sanaa.
On March 25, Saudi Arabia and a number of other countries launched airstrikes on Houthi positions in Sanaa after Hadi had requested military aid from Arab League countries.
On Thursday, Houthi political council member Fadel Mutag said the Houthis had gained control over 90 percent of the city of Aden.
