California Attorney General Kamala Harris said Friday that Bollaert’s sentence should serve as a reminder and warning to those who wish to exploit others online.
Bollaert was convicted in February in San Diego Superior Court. According to prosecutors, the site he ran allowed people to post nude photos of their ex-lovers, who then had to pay Bolleart to take the photos down.
He earned about $30,000 from victims, according to prosecutors. One victim even attempted suicide.
