MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Shots were fired upon a bus carrying the Turkish Fenerbache football team in the late hours of Saturday, following the team's 5-1 win against Rizespor.
The bus driver was shot and seriously injured in the incident, Fenerbahce board member Mehmet Uslu said following the incident.

“We were travelling across the viaduct when the incident occurred, the driver was shot and we are lucky not to have had a serious crash that would have destroyed the bus,” Uslu was quoted as saying by the Turkish Football website.
“The driver was seriously wounded and is currently in intensive care,” he added.
No one except the driver was injured in the attack, Fenerbahce defender Bekir Irtegun said. “I still cannot believe how he managed to stop the bus in that situation,” he wrote on Twitter.
Fenerbahce is a major Istanbul-based football team which plays in Turkey’s Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
