NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – Security has been increased Sunday in the Indian capital city of New Delhi over a possibility of a suicide attack by terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a source in Indian Home Ministry told Sputnik.
According to the source, Indian Intelligence Bureau has issued an alert and notified Delhi Police on Sunday about the possible terror attack in the capital.
It is feared that JeM terrorists may conduct in New Delhi a suicide attack, similar to those they have reportedly carried out in Samba Sector in the state of Jammu and Kashmir earlier in April.
Jaish-e-Mohammed, or the Army of Muhammad, is a terrorist group aiming to separate Kashmir region from India. The group is believed to be behind the 2001 Indian Parliament attack in New Delhi that claimed 14 lives.
