WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A United States delegation headed by Special Presidential Envoy General John Allen and Deputy Special Presidential Envoy Brett McGurk will discuss the progress the progress of the anti-ISIL Coalition at a Small Group meeting in Jordan on April 8, the US State Department announced in a release.
"General Allen and Ambassador McGurk will lead the US delegation to this meeting of the Coalition Small Group at the Political Director level to review Coalition operations and progress along the various lines of effort to degrade and defeat ISIL [Islamic State of Iraq and Levant]," the statement, issued on Monday, said.
The Coalition’s Small Group last met in London on January 22, 2015, according to the State Department.
The United States is leading the international Coalition of more than 60 nations that has been launching airstrikes against the ISIL in Iraq since August 2014, and in Syria since September 2014.
