MOSCOW (Sputnik) — New official website of Russian President Vladimir Putin will start work by midday on Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“Probably, by the middle of the day [on Wednesday] the new site will already be functioning. It is a new kind [of website], more simple, more convenient, more up-to-date,” Peskov said, adding that Putin’s personal recommendations regarding the work of the new website were taken into account.
Russian presidential website kremlin.ru was launched in January 2000 and went through its last major technical upgrade more than five years ago. In September 2009 the website received several new functions such as the mobile and WAP versions, a version for visually impaired and a service allowing to send e-mails to the President. The English version of the website, eng.kremlin.ru was last redesigned in June 2010.
