BALI, April 8 (Sputnik) — The explosion took place at Tanah Abang market, near a police station.
"There is no threat at the moment," Haiti was quoted as saying by the local Detik.com news website.
The Jakarta Police Department announced that the powerful explosion could have been caused by a faulty gas cylinder. The vibration was felt over a half a mile away, witnesses said.
The police are investigating other possible reasons for the blast, including a bomb.
The culprit might be among the injured, according to the police.
