The Ukrainian Security Service has reportedly prevented illegal exports of Ukrainian military aircraft engines from the country and launched an investigation into the case, qualifying it as a violation of the rules applicable to international transfers of goods.
"The Security Service of Ukraine has prevented the illegal export of Ukrainian engines for the military transport aviation. An attempt was made to transport dual-use goods which are subject to the national export control to one of the neighboring countries […]", a SBU statement said.
Specialists of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the seized aircraft engines are designed for use in both the civil and military spheres. The investigation into the case is currently under way.
