The updated Nodong missile with an effective range of up to 3,000km is slated for launch between April 11 and 14.
The four-stage, 26m missile will be launched into the Sea of Japan from the Musudanni test range on the country’s east coast.
The launch of the Nodong missile was initially scheduled for October 10 to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the country’s ruling Workers Party, but the launch date was later pushed forward, Jiji news agency reported.
In early April North Korea launched four short-range missiles into the Sea of Japan.
