MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A Syrian delegation in Moscow proposed a 12-point program on the fight against terrorism, but there was not enough time to agree on it, Syrian UN Envoy Bashar Jaafari said Friday.

“The document that was accepted unanimously yesterday pertains to the first point of the agenda. We began discussing the second point, which concerns the fight against terrorism, specifically on the unity of views and our stances, but we couldn’t finish the discussion on the fight against terrorism… we proposed a project that contains 12 points, but there wasn’t enough time to develop a common view on the second point.”
Jaafari added that the 12-point document proposed by the Syrian delegation envisaged support of government troops in Syria and maintenance of Syrian institutions.
An attempt to negotiate a peace in Geneva broke up in February 2014.
The ongoing conflict in Syria has already left over 220,000 dead since it started in 2011, according to the UN estimates.
