The wife of the incumbent North Korean leader has made her first public appearance this year; Ri Sol-Ju took part in festivities to mark the birthday anniversary of the country's founding leader Kim Il-Sung, the DPRK’s state media reported on April 14.
The images of the couple attending a men's football match at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang on April 13 were published in the North Korean state-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun.

A smiling Ri Sol-Ju was pictured clapping next to her husband Kim Jong-Un during the match, part of the ‘Day of the Sun’ celebrations which are held in honor of Kim Il-Sung.
Pyongyang designates the Day of the Sun as a rare two-day national holiday, which includes art performances, exhibitions, sporting events and pilgrimages to the birthplace of the “Great Leader” in the North Korean capital.
Ri was last seen in public on December 17, 2014, when she and her husband were in attendance at a ceremony to commemorate the third anniversary of the death of the young leader's father, Kim Jong-il.
The North Korean first lady has rarely been seen with her husband after she stepped away from public life in late 2012, when she reportedly gave birth to a daughter.
