MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia and Mexico are developing relations in joint space exploration, Mexican ambassador to Moscow Ruben Beltran said Tuesday.
"Another [Mexican] satellite will be launched from Baikonur in 15 days, thanks to our cooperation with [Russia's space agency] Roscosmos. We are pleased by this, we are happy about this fact. So we are bringing our interests together in the space sphere too," Beltran said in Moscow, during a roundtable discussion held at the Rossiya Segodnya press center.
Mexico is also interested in cooperation with Moscow on Russia's GLONASS satellite navigation system, Beltran said.
In April 2014, Francisco Javier Mendieta Jimenez, head of the Mexican Space Agency, said that Mexico and Russia were preparing an intergovernmental agreement on space research. The agreement will concern issues of science and technology in space exploration.
