MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – Pakistan invited Russian oil and gas companies to examine exploration opportunities, the south Asian country's petroleum and natural resources minister told Sputnik.
"We have asked the Russian energy minister to have the Russian oil and gas exploration companies to visit Pakistan and look at the oil exploration in our country. So, hopefully, they will visit us within the next couple of months," Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said in an interview.
The minister added that Russian companies might choose any form of involvement into business in Pakistan, including setting up a concession block or cooperate with the existing ones.
Late last year, Russia and Pakistan announced an agreement on the construction of gas transportation and regasification infrastructure in Pakistan. According to the minister, an intergovernmental agreement on the project may be finalized as early as next month.
