MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The international order formed after World War II helps in developing greater ties and cooperation between countries, Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan said Thursday at a press conference in Moscow.
"The international order that was shaped after the World War II plays an important part in maintaining peace and security, developing friendly ties between countries, and boosting international cooperation."
He pointed out that in 2015 China would mark the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII.
"The victory was not earned easily… The disaster should not happen again."
Russia and China plan to hold joint events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, which include visits of the two countries' leaders.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will participate in the Victory Day celebration in Moscow on May 9. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a reciprocal arrangement, is expected to take part in celebrations in Beijing in September.
