The United States is seeking to make Europe part of its military and political network, disregarding international law and the interests of other nations, a British politician told Sputnik on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Daria Chernyshova — George Galloway told Sputnik that some European countries willingly consent to the US policies, yet others, such as Greece, are openly against becoming US subordinates.

"They [the United States] want Europe to be a part of their military, political access."

Along with the United States, the European Union imposed several round of sanctions against Russia last year. However, unlike Washington, Brussels’ trade balance with Moscow is much larger and the sanctions sparked discontent among several European nations, whose trade is dependent on trade with Russia.

The politician also said that the United States had bombed and invaded foreign countries over the past six decades, disregarding international law and trying to install regimes convenient to Washington.

"They [the Americans] are interested in that the rulers rule their countries in the interest of the United States."
