Rehearsals for the May 9 Victory Day parades kicked off in two Hero Cities in Crimea – in Kerch and Sevastopol. The first ground rehearsal for the Sevastopol parade was held at a military airfield of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. On May 9, these military vehicles will ride through the city streets.
Rehearsals for the May 9 Victory Day parades kicked off in two Hero Cities in Crimea – in Kerch and Sevastopol. The first ground rehearsal for the Sevastopol parade was held at a military airfield of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. On May 9, these military vehicles will ride through the city streets.
More than 2,000 servicemen will participate in the Victory Parade in Sevastopol which will be held in the city center. The parade will be divided into two parts – historic and modern times.

A total of 1,500 servicemen will participate in the modern part of the parade, including troops of the fleet’s military command, the Crimean naval base, the fleet’s naval force, a marine brigade, and the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District. Nearly 40 weapons and military equipment units will take part in the Sevastopol parade, including BTR-80 armored vehicles, Osa anti-aircraft missile launchers, Bastion coastal missile system, S-300 air defense missile launchers, Pantsir air defense complex, and howitzers.

On May 9 demonstration flights of the Black Sea Fleet’s Naval Aviation are planned for the Victory Parade. Eleven planes and helicopters will fly over the city, including Be-12 antisubmarine aircraft, An-26 transport aircraft, a Tu-134 aircraft, Mi-8 and Ka-27PS helicopters.

All the troops and military equipment rehearsals for the Sevastopol parade will be held at the Khersones airfield. Its runway was specially marked to resemble the streets of Sevastopol.
