More than 14 tons of cocaine, worth hundreds of millions of dollars, were seized by the US Coast Guard in a 79-day operation involving the US Navy and the Royal Canadian Navy.

The ship, carrying the drugs, arrived to the San Diego dock on Thursday, and was unloaded by a crane and a conveyor belt.

The drug was taken in 19 separate seizures near Central and South America, authorities say, and 101 smugglers have been apprehended.
