The United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali says two assailants attacked a UN convoy of civilian workers in north Mali, killing two and wounding one.
The assailants stopped the convoy and shot the drivers dead before setting the vehicles on fire.
The group al-Mourabitoun, which was formally commanded by former Algerian al-Qaeda fighter Mokhtar Belmokhtar, has claimed responsibility for the attack on the UN peacekeepers.
This attack comes days after an attack on the UN peacekeeping base in the same region as Gao, which killed three people and wounded 16.
