MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday morning, a counter-terrorist operation was launched in Dagestan's Buynaksk district. Later, the security forces blocked the house with the militants inside. In the evening, the operation entered an active phase and the militants released the children from the building.
"According to the preliminary data, among the blocked militants are the leaders of an international terrorist organization," NAK said in a statement.
According to the earlier reports, Aliaskhab Kebekov, the leader of Caucasus Emirate terrorist group could be among the militants.
Kebekov is wanted in Russia since April 2012 on charges of organizing or participating in an illegal armed group.
