A bus veered off a mountain highway, plunging over 100 meters into a river near the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, killing at least twelve Indian pilgrims and wounding 35 more, sources said.
"Twelve Indian passengers, six men and six women, died on the spot. We have rescued 29 people from the site," a local police official was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying on Tuesday. Two others succumbed to their injuries after being taken to a local hospital.
The ill-fated bus was en route to the Indian town of Gorakhpur from the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath in Kathmandu.
