MOSCOW (Sputnik) – TVEL, Russia's nuclear fuel manufacturer, said Wednesday it will supply nuclear fuel to scientific and power-generating reactors in Argentina.
TVEL signed on Wednesday respective memorandums of understanding with Argentina's Comision Nacional De Energia Atomica and state-run INVAP corporation on the sidelines of the official visit of Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to Russia.
Rosatom is currently one of five prequalified suppliers for Argentina's first light-water, enriched uranium pressurized water reactor.
During his visit to Argentina in July 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that Russian energy companies would be invited to the Latin American country to assist in renovation of its energy producing facilities and construction of new power stations.
