Andrei Lozovoi, a Ukrainian Rada deputy from the Radical party, instigated a brawl in the Ukrainian parliament on Wednesday.
Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Anatoly Matvienko made some comments which annoyed Lozovoi, prompting him to rush at his fellow parliamentarian with the clear intention of using one of his crutches he currently walks with to strike his opponent.
What irritated Lozovoi was that Matvienko had suggested that the principle of equality applied to all citizens of Ukraine, including deputies of the Radical party.
Matvienko had commented on the intention of the Prosecutor General's Office to deprive seven Verkhovnaya Rada deputies of their parliamentary immunity to prosecution, including those from the Radical party.
“It is only too fair that all of those who violate the law should end up behind bars. No one should have any preference, neither patriots, nor non-patriots. The law should be applied to all,” he said.
The Rada chairman reacted with humor, calling on the deputies, especially on those [temporarily] one legged, to return to their seats.
