TALLINN (Sputnik) – NATO's two-day Baltic Region Training Event (BRTE), with the participation of 10 alliance members, has ended, the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces said Wednesday.
According to the general staff, the United States, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany were among participating countries.
Italian, Spanish, Belgian, Swedish and Finnish jets took part in the exercise, with the Estonian Air Force exercising control of the airspace over Baltic countries.
During the drills, the participants worked on interoperability skills and actions in emergency situations.
This was the 20th BRTE exercise, held annually since October 2008. Next BRTE drills are set to take place in June.
