Former US information technology company Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina reportedly will announce her campaign for US President on May 4, 2015.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Former US information technology company Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina will announce her campaign for US President on May 4, 2015, to challenge Republican candidates Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio for the US Republican Primary, according to media reports.

“Carly Fiorina reportedly plans to declare her candidacy for President on May 4 with a low-key launch,” USA Today reported on Wednesday.

Fiorina will announce her candidacy through an online statement followed by a conference call with reporters, according to local media.

Fiorina is the only woman running among her Republican competition for the US Republican Primary.

Retired US neurosurgeon Ben Carson is also expected to make his presidential announcement from his home in Detroit, Michigan as is Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee from his hometown Hope, Arkansas.

Fiorina served as CEO of Hewlett-Packard from 1999 to 2005 after being an executive at the US telecommunications company AT&T and its equipment and technology branch company Lucent.
