Ukrainian opposition leader Yuriy Boyko said that a crackdown on opponents of the Kiev government had started in Ukraine.

KIEV (Sputnik) — There are a lot of weapons in the country as well as radical elements who have been fighting in eastern Ukraine, Boyko told RIA Novosti, adding that this is the reason for the murders.

"A crackdown on those who oppose the policies of the current government has begun in Ukraine. There are professional killers at work… All this at a time when the authorities have shown an absolute inability to bring the situation under control."

At least two have reportedly been killed and 11 injured in an explosion in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv during a march on the one-year anniversary of Maidan protests Sunday - Sputnik International
Three Prominent Poroshenko Critics Killed in Kiev in Three Days
On April 16, Ukrainian opposition journalist Oles Buzina was shot dead in Kiev by two masked gunmen near his home. The incident occurred less than a day after former lawmaker and government critic Oleh Kalashnikov was murdered at his residence in the Ukrainian capital.

Another Ukrainian journalist, Donetsk-born Serhiy Sukhobok, was also killed last week near his house in Kiev.

These murders are the most recent in a series of suspicious deaths of opponents to the administration of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in recent months. Many of the deaths were put down to suicide triggered by guilt by law enforcement.

On Friday, the Ukrainian parliament will hear from the heads of law enforcement agencies on the recent killings at the request of the opposition, according to Boyko.
