The staffer, Fred W. Pagan, admitted that he was ordering GBL from China and that he knew it was illegal. Pagan also admitted to having ordered the schedule 1 controlled drug on three other occasions.
Additionally, 181.5 grams of methamphetamine was found in his home, which he told the DHS officers that he received from California. The staffer’s confessions didn’t stop there: the loose-lipped Pagan also explained that he intended to “exchange” the drugs for sexual favors.
On April 9 customs agents found a package from China addressed to Pagan which contained more than a kilo of GBL, leading to the raid.
A spokesperson for Cochran has stated that the senator is aware of the arrest, but has not seen the additional details which were released today.
