WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Monday, the death toll from the earthquake in Nepal has reached more than 4,100 people, according to the country’s Interior Ministry.
Tourists from the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Canada and India are among the victims of the disaster. Dozens of people in neighboring India, Bangladesh and China were reportedly killed.
The spokesperson also expressed deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
Earler on Monday, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that Washington would provide an additional $9 million to Nepal as part of the assistance in earthquake recovery effort, which amounts US aid to Nepal to a total of $10 million.
