About 200 people have been rescued from Mount Everest in the aftermath of last week's massive earthquake in Nepal, which claimed the lives of at least 19 climbers, according to Nepal's Tourism Ministry.
"Almost all climbers and high-altitude guides have descended from Camp 1 and 2 and everything is fine," Director General of the Ministry of Tourism Tulsi Prasad Gautam was quoted by the Chinese news agency Xinhua as saying on Tuesday.
The 19 climbers were killed in two avalanches triggered by the Saturday earthquake that claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people.
