The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the Right Sector are holding talks on the ultra-nationalist volunteer battalion joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said.
However, the Right Sector refused to join the National Guard of Ukraine, which is subordinated to the Interior Ministry; at the same time, the Right Sector leadership demands that the ultra-nationalist battalions should be incorporated into the Defense Ministry's forces only as a separate combat unit.
Stepan Poltorak told journalists Thursday that "there is a clear scheme of interaction" between the Defense Ministry and the Right Sector commanders and the information about the conflict is "absolutely cooked-up." According to Poltorak the Right Sector is currently mulling what military detachment it will join.
Ultra-nationalists called the Wednesday action a "precautionary" one, claiming that the next rally will end "not until the administrative building is burnt to ashes."

The Right Sector was established as a coalition of ultra-nationalist and neo-Nazi organizations of Ukraine during the Euromaidan protests of 2013-2014 in Kiev. The organization is banned in Russia: it was recognized as an extremist organization in November 2014 by the Supreme Court of Russia. The group's leader Dmytro Yarosh was put on Interpol's wanted list in accordance with Russia's request.
