“Unfortunately, we see that the Russians continue to fail to live up to the obligations they have made in the context of the Minsk agreements… and we are disappointed by that,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told a daily press briefing at the White House.
Mr. Earnest added that Washington was working with its European partners to maintain economic pressure on Moscow.
Simultaneously, the White House spokesman mentioned the Ukrainian government’s “clear willingness” to abide by the provisions of the Minsk accords and reiterated continued US and EU support for Kiev’s crackdown on the pro-independence militia in eastern Ukraine.
“We’ve provided significant economic assistance to the people of Ukraine… The United States has provided some training and other forms of support to the Ukrainian military, and this effort will continue,” Earnest added.
