Nigeria's army announced on Friday it had freed 234 women and children from Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest in the northeast of the country.
A military spokesman said that the operation is ongoing and efforts are focused on rescuing civilian hostages and demolishing all terrorist camps and facilities in the forest.
About 500 women and children have already been rescued this week. The 234 will join them at the center where authorities are trying to determine the identities of all those released.
