MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Xi Jinping also plans to visit Belarus and Kazakhstan in May, at the request of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the ministry's statement said.
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui told Sputnik last week that China's People's Liberation Army was going to take part in the military parade that will be held in Moscow's Red Square as part of the May 9 celebrations marking the 1945 defeat of Nazi Germany.
The Chinese leader is also expected to use his visit to the Russian capital to hold talks with Vladimir Putin, as well as Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Last month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Xi Jinping had invited President Putin to visit China in early September when the country will mark the 70th anniversary of World War II victory over Japan.
