Iran and Turkey will use their national currencies in their trade operations, according to Head of Iran-Turkey Joint Trade Council Jalal Ebrahimi.
The decision was made during Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s recent visit to Tehran, Ebrahimi said.
The move is part of a package of proposals to facilitate and bolster trade between the two countries. Turkey and Iran plan to multiply their transactions in the next few years.
Iran and Turkey have been actively working on widening their ties in various fields over the last two decades. The two countries have cooperated in the energy industry, investments and tourism.
