Unidentified persons vandalized St. Anne's Church, located in the Nørrebro neighborhood of Copenhagen, ahead of a scheduled visit by the former chief rabbi of Denmark, Bent Melchior. They painted slogans "Free Gaza" and "Close the KZ camps" on the doors of the church and hurled cobblestones through its windows.
Police called the incident politically motivated. An investigation is underway.
Despite the incident, Bent Melchior visited the church and gave a speech on the 70th anniversary of Denmark's liberation in World War II.
