NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — Countries across the world have sent their rescuers to Nepal, following 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the country on April 25.
"Nepal government has thanked the search and rescue teams of all the countries who helped Nepal in search and rescue operations. Now since the search and rescue work has finished so our government has asked all those teams of different countries to leave Nepal," Krishna Prasad Dhakal said.
National Disaster Relief Force Director General, O P Singh confirmed to Sputnik that the Nepalese government decided to halt the search and rescue operations, as it is "very unlikely that we would get some live victims from the debris."
"So it has been decided by the Nepalese government that all those countries among which India is also included should leave Nepal. Therefore our team is withdrawing from Nepal," he added.
