MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The action in central London is set to start at 12 p.m. (11:00 GMT) with a rally involving representatives from the Media Reform Coalition, an independent organization supporting media pluralism, and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
This action will be followed by a workshop given by the anti-profit independent magazine Strike! on subversive advertising and brandalism as well as a panel discussion on how to build an alternative media.
Outside of London, Occupy Democracy campaigns are taking place in several other UK cities, including Liverpool, Brighton and Leicester.
The Occupy Democracy campaign, which was launched on May 1, is set to continue through May 10. The activists’ demands focus on greater democracy free from corporate control. The event is held ahead of the UK general election on May 7, to elect representatives to the 650 seats in the House of Commons.
