LONDON (Sputnik), Anastasia Levchenko — The UK Liberal Democrat party deserves nothing more than a defeat by Scottish nationalists at the May 7 general election, the Lib Dems' former vice chairman told Sputnik on Tuesday.
Donnachach McCarthy expressed certitude that the SNP would receive more votes than the Liberal Democrats, and said it would be a historical change in whole Westminster politics.
"That is going to shock Westminster system… It is going to stir the things up seriously," he said.
In the current election campaign, the Scottish National Party (SNP) is doing extremely well, having a chance of winning all 59 Scottish seats at Westminster, according to the recent polls.
On Thursday, British voters will cast ballots in the parliamentary election to elect representatives to the country's lower house of parliament for the next five years. Neither the Conservatives nor their rival Labour party are predicted to get a majority of the votes.
