Report Reveals Germanwings Co-Pilot Practiced Descent on Previous Flight
MOSCOW (Sputnik) France’s BEA crash investigation agency has published a preliminary report on the Germanwings passenger jet crash in southern France in March that killed 150 people on board.

On March 24, a Germanwings flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf crashed into the French Alps. Copilot Andreas Lubitz was suspected of deliberately crashing the plane into the mountains.

According to the report, the flight recorders show that the crash was a result of the copilot’s planned actions of a “controlled descent.”

“The chosen altitude was changed from 38,000 feet to 100 feet when the pilot [Lubitz] was alone in the cockpit,” the report reads.
