MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Basmanny Court in Moscow on Wednesday extended until June 30 the pretrial detention of Ukrainian national Nadezhda Savchenko, who is suspected of assisting the killing of Russian reporters in eastern Ukraine.
"Investigators' request to extend Savchenko's detention has been satisfied," Judge Natalia Mushnikova announced in the court room.
Russian investigators believe that Savchenko was a fire spotter during a mortar attack near the eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk on June 17, 2014, that killed two Russian journalists, Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin.
