MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Sudanese army shot down an Israeli drone on Wednesday, the Haaretz reported citing a Sudanese Army spokesman.
Earlier in the day, reports in the Arab media suggested that a weapons facility near the Sudanese capital of Khartoum came under missile attack. Sudanese armed forces' Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa'ad said that a downed Israeli drone which had penetrated the Sudanese airspace from the east carried two missiles, according to the Harretz.
This is not the first incident involving Israeli aviation on Sudanese territory. In 2012, the authorities claimed that four radar-evading Israeli planes struck an ammunition plant in Khartoum.
Israel remained silent to the accusations. The plant reportedly produced arms to be delivered to the Gaza Strip, controlled by Hamas.
