WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Denmark’s Ministry of Defense will purchase more than 200 new generation armored vehicles from the United States, US defense contractor General Dynamics said in a press release on Thursday.
“The contract from the Danish Ministry of Defense will include the acquisition of a minimum of 206 new armored personnel carriers, with the exact number to be determined at a later date,” the release read.
"We are confident that this program and the PIRANHA 5 in particular will guarantee the best protection for the Danish troops and provide the best value for the Danish industrial base,” the release concluded.
Piranha 5 is an armored wheeled vehicle geared toward providing armed forces protection on the international battlefield, according to the manufacture’s website.
