On the day of the closest-fought contest in years for the right to govern the UK, the Conservative-backed newspaper implored readers to go the polls before they close at 2200 BST.
"We view this general election as the most important since 1979 [when Margaret Thatcher won the election]."
"Do we continue with the Conservatives, with the open, enterprise-led approach that has underpinned our prosperity for nearly 40 years? Or do we revert to an old-style 'government knows best' culture championed by the most left-wing Labour leader for a generation," the email said.
