On the whole, perhaps it’s not a bad assumption. Multiple studies have shown that Americans have an unfortunately low knowledge of the world beyond their borders. But still, if there’s one country, after Mexico and Canada, that US citizens have some awareness of, it’s probably the United Kingdom.

Just to drive the point home, CNN also appears to be reporting from the top of a double-decker bus. If "US Ally" wasn’t clear enough, maybe American audiences will at least recognize transportation they’ve seen in the Austin Powers movies.
